There is a new feature out today! Mini Adopts have been added as a separate section above the treasures on adopt profiles. Here, you can add items that have mini adopt permissions turned on by their creators.
Mini adopts are like a simpler version of adoptables, allowing your adoptables to have their own adoptables. Upon being added, a Mini Adopt will receive an ID number and name. You can change the name to whatever you like.
To remove a Mini Adopt, you can either click the removal button or transfer them to another adoptable. Removal will wipe their data, so ID and name will not be retained, and the item will go back into your inventory. Transferring will allow you to retain a Mini Adopt's ID and name. You can even transfer a Mini Adopt to an adoptable owned by another user (unless you add a bio code to prevent accidental transfers and removals).
To prevent accidental removals, add the code [lockminiadopt] to your adoptable's bio. This will prevent removals. It will also prevent transfers if the adoptable being transferred to is owned by another player (it will not prevent transfers between your own adoptables).
Adoptables are limited to up to 100 Mini Adopts depending on their level (gaining +1 slot every 5 levels).
If any bugs are found, please report them to the bug reports forum—and have fun!
Due to concerns about animated avatars causing eye strain and other issues, we are in the process of removing animated avatars from the site.
All animated gif avatars will be manually removed next week by August 10th and we'll be adding a new ToS update to disallow them.
If you have an animated avatar, now is a good time to come up with a still image alternative.
