"Froghounds are gentle mammal-like amphibians. These carnivores live in packs and their high intelligence allows for the use of hunting tactics and tools. They are mesocarnivores and their diet consists mainly of small to medium sized mammals.
They not only use their tails for communication and to keep their balance, but also for storing fat like some geckos. They breathe through their skin like most amphibians and therefore need to be kept humid and moist, they love to swim and are surprisingly good at it. They are so effective at breathing through their skin that they completely lack lungs, instead they have what is called a “pup gullet”. This organ produces pup-syrup from any food they swallow into their pup gullet which they then feed to their pups. Both parents have this organ and they feed their pups equally.
Froghounds are loving companions thanks to their will to pack bond, and once you have pack bonded with one they will likely not leave your side. They might try to groom you as they are afraid you won't be able to breathe if you're dry but they will eventually learn that you breathe with lungs and will then groom you less often.
