2 week and 1 month breeding cooldown options are now available for creators who want longer cooldowns on breeding their species.
We have made another bug fix to the breeding feature, which is now available to use again—we will be keeping an eye out for any more serious bugs.
The species and item release news updates have also been recoded, and are now set to start running again tonight at rollover. Instead of rolling out new species and items once per hour, these are now set to run once per day—with up to 3 species and 10 item releases per day.
Instead of getting a separate notification for each release, users should only receive one daily notification if anything new is released.
If there are more than 10 items or 3 species waiting in the approval queue, they will be released the next day the order they were queued.
Due to continuous bugs, breeding had to be taken down again. SOrry everyone!
Breeding is back up and running!
Now that we have custom species transform and recolor item transforms, we are going to remove the old inferior SHADOW ONLY transform system. You will still be able to set a shadow item as a species transform under the ‘custom transform’ system, though. Shadows aren’t going away.
The custom system is much more versatile and has more options, including all of the same options as the old system. The old system needs to be taken out because it’s getting in the way of development and is not as well coded as the custom one.
The only difference this makes to creators and players is that there will be one species transform item instead of one custom and one shadow. Also, official shadow items on the site will be given a main item function so that they will have more use other than just being a transformer item. Again, you will still be able to set shadows as your species transform item if desired.
This will happen next week.
How this will affect current species: Species that have a shadow selected, but no custom transform, will have the shadow data switched over to the custom transformed data. This will essentially result in no changes to the species, allowing them to keep the shadow transform as they used to have.
For species that have a shadow selected, and a custom item selected, the shadow option will be dropped and the custom transform will not be changes.
In other words, no changes whatsoever are going to be made to what is selected in the custom transform section. The shadow transform section, however, will either be removed or transferred to the custom section.
The recolor feature is back up and has received massive updates!
Edit/Delete Only setting - For species creators, there is a new setting that allows you to grant public access to the recolor page for only editing and deleting existing markings. This may be useful if you want to allow recoloring, but retain the rarity of your species' markings and colors.
Marking Permissions - There is a new set of advanced permissions on your species Rules panel for creators. If you have recoloring turned on, you can use advanced settings to restrict access to specific markings. This allows creators to retain the rarity of their colors. Be sure to read the guide on this page for more information.
Item Recolors - In the new advanced options, species creators can now set item requirements for markings. All markings can be set the same item, or multiple different items can be set. Be sure to read the guide for more details!
Randomizer - A randomization feature has been added to the recolor page! This can be turned on by species creators to be used for free or for 500 PTS per reroll.
Species creators will have access to the free version of everything on the recolor page.
Happy recoloring! Let us know in the bug reports forum if any bugs are found. Because this feature involves crucial settings for creators, we will be cracking down as quickly as possible on any serious bugs if any are found. IN THE CASE OF SERIOUS BUGS, any adopts that are recolored against the species creators intentions due to bugs will be fixed by staff (unless the creator explicitly allows the bugged adopt to go unfixed).
Hello everyone! We have 2 new-ish themes released!
Down the rabbit warrenz: A Theme with the colors from Warrenz, to make the move a little easier on the eyes, and Halloween: Warrenz' Halloween theme is now on 4dopt!
These new themes are accessible via the gear symbol on the sidebar.
Also, the move from Warrenz to 4dopt is going nice! Eve has ben putting some quick warrenz test sales on Discord, but worry not, there will be some Warrenz rabbits in the auctions!
Eve will also, soon, fix the recolor feature so everyone of you who got a warrenz rabbit can pretty them up!
Currently only one pose is being transferred, the Lionhead bunnies! But we will be transferring a lot more, effectively amplifying the number of official species we have on-site!
Thank you very much for your patience and support!
With so much user submitted content on 4dopt, we are looking for a few additional staff to help moderate user submitted content. These are all volunteer positions that you can learn more about on the Contact Us page.
These features are being down due to bugs to prevent further losses while we work on fixing them: Species panel artwork pages, recolor pages, layer group pages (where layer groups are edited), transforms, collection achievements, the popup that prevent clicking past things in explore, Treasure achievements, adding treasure slots from adopt profiles, gaining treasure slots from explore, adding treasure slots with item, shelter, evolution settings
We understand this update may be a bit late on some of the bugs that were reported, and will try to be more on top of this in the future to ensure that players due not experiences losses due to bugs while they are being fixed.
A few features are down due to issues that we're working on resolving!
Notification settings - We've gotten feedback that this feature is too complicated and cluttered. In order to make the notification system more usable, we plan on rehauling this system.
Species/item release news - For the same issue, this is being turned off until we can figure out a way to prevent it from cluttering the news and notifications.
Stat increase items - We are currently running polls and getting feedback on whether stats need to have a hard cap (limit), so increases are being turned off while we figure out what to do to prevent issues with users going over a potential cap.
Breeding - This is down due to the stats dilemma, since breeding stats is an increase method.
